African American women are making great strides in the technology industry. Here is a list of 7 successful African American women in the information technology industry.
1. Wanda M. Austin
She has a bachelor-s degree in math, and a masters and doctorate degree in systems engineering. She is also the CEO of Aerospace.
2. Laverne Council
She has a bachelor-s degree in computer science and a master-s degree in operations management. She is also the CIO of Johnson & Johnson.
3. Ursula Burns
She has a bachelor-s degree in mechanical engineering and a master-s degree in engineering. She is also the CEO of Xerox.
4. Melodie Mayberry-Stewart
She has a has a Ph.D. in information systems management, and she is the CIO for the state of New York.
5. Sandra K. Johnson
She has a bachelor-s degree in electrical engineering and a masters and Ph.D. in electrical engineering. She is also the CTO for IBM.
6. Deborah Jackson
She has a bachelor-s degree in physics and a Ph.D. in new laser technology. She is currently the Program Director of the National Science Foundation.
7. Wyllstyne D. Hill
She has a bachelor-s degree in math with a minor in computer science. She is currently the CIO of missile systems at Raytheon.
